If people are enquiring about schools

  • Apply like all others moving into the local authority and wait lists are managed in line with the admissions policy of the schools they apply to. Primary school places may have more success in securing provision more local to their address as there are vacancies in primary schools in most areas/year groups  (however some years/areas are tighter than others), incl those areas with larger existing populations from Afghanistan. For secondary schools there is limited capacity and the schools most likely to have vacancies are Ark Acton and Northolt High School, therefore there may be some travelling to school.
  • If they have special needs they need to flag this on the application form
  • If complex needs an Educational Psychologist will be asked to do an initial assessment
  • Even with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and if complex initial offers will be through the usual mainstream process with support provided by a school – this is standard

There is an in year admissions lead who can provide the detail email . The information is largely on the council website and the council portal for applications is below
